Beth Embleton

LCSW

Beth Embleton, LCSW completed her MSW at UNC Chapel Hill with an internship at Duke High-risk Perinatal Clinic. She grew up in Connecticut and began her career in commercial art and product design. Beth was the Program Coordinator at an arts center serving all children, but it was working with at-risk youth that led her to pursue her MSW. Beth worked in intensive-in-home family treatment with children/adolescents and youth aged 3-21 years. She has experience in a private mental health care practice setting, in North Carolina, that included psychotherapy as well as medication management, neurological testing, and TMS. Beth works with all ages as an out-patient therapist, focusing on younger people and families, including many college students. Beth has a special interest in neuro-diverse people and brains, as well as those who have experienced trauma. Beth was trained by her former company as an LGBTQ ally therapist.

Beth uses an interpersonal approach, is trained in Play Therapy, CBT, DBT, MIndfulness, ACT and, at times, psycho-dynamically. She trained at The Omega Institute in New York using Bessel van der Kolk’s courses for Mindfulness for both children and adults, including trauma. Beth seeks to create a safe space and trust and uses a wide array of skills, and strategies individualized to meet the client. Her past work includes individuals experiencing Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and ASD. Now back home in Connecticut, Beth often provides psycho-education, information on healthy boundaries, coping skills, self-care, self-calming, and is an advocate for finding something one truly enjoys.
