What is ABA Therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the most comprehensive and effective approach to improving the lives of children with autism. The ABA approach uses a combination of psychological, educational, and developmental techniques based upon the individual needs for a child.
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) use ABA as an evidenced-based practice to measure behavior, teach socially significant replacement behaviors and evaluate a child’s progress while using these skills.
Why ABA with CBH?
- ABA therapy for all clients is completely individualized. Each program is written to meet the individual needs of each child.
- A BCBA will design and oversee the program that involves the child’s skills, needs, deficits, interests, as well as family preferences.
- RBTs will implement the skill based programs, collect data, and train parents and caregivers in real time.
Where?
CBH offers In-Home and Clinic-Based Treatment Options
In-Home
BCBAs and RBTs will design and implement programs that will benefit the child in their home. This setting will allow staff to create sustainable environmental modifications to benefit the child and family. This will allow for real-time family and caretaker training dealing with behavior reduction strategies, positive reinforcement techniques and embedded opportunities for skill acquisition.
Clinic-Based
BCBAs and RBTs will design and implement programs in a more structured environment than the home. This setting will allow staff to control environmental factors, teach introductory attending and reinforcement strategies and train parents on the basics of ABA while in a setting outside of their home.
